The 14th the ANP bidding round, which takes place this week, September 27, in Rio de Janeiro, will offer ten blocks in the Campos Basin. Among them, six are located wholly or partially on the coast of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
The blocks on offer on the coast of Rio de Janeiro have potential for discoveries in the pre-salt layer, although they are offered under the concession areas and are outside of the polygon set forth in law nº 12,351/2010. The minimum signing bonus of the blocks on offer in the Campos Basin located on the coast of Rio de Janeiro vary from R $5,340,000 R $25,120,000.
The State of Rio de Janeiro is currently the largest producer of oil and gas in Brazil. In July 2017, the State produced 1.8 million barrels of oil per day, equivalent to 71% of the national production, and 52.5 million cubic meters of natural gas, which corresponds to 46% of the brazilian production. The State of Rio de Janeiro has 42 producers fields, distributed in the Campos and Santos basins.
