16th Bidding Round suffers reduction of exploratory areas

The 16th Bidding Rounds, scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2019, had its exploratory framework reduced to 36 blocks with a low in the localized areas of Santos Basin, excluding regions C-M-602, C-M-604, C-M-606 and C-M-543, and Campos Basin, with S-M-1498 and S-M-1502.

The justification is that, through a study, there is the possibility of future junction of the blocks with the extension of the reservoirs in areas outside the Exclusive Economic Zone (ZEE) in the Atlantic Ocean. In Addition to the Santos and Campos Basin, the next round of auctions will offer regions in Pernambuco-Paraíba, Camamu-Almada, Jacuípe.
