The main Chinese exhibition related to the maritime market, China Maritime-7a international exhibition of technology and Offshore Engineering equipment (CM) will be held from 20 to 22 March 2017 in New International Exhibition Center of China, in Beijing, along with the 17th International exhibition of petroleum and Petrochemical equipment industry Development (cippe2017).
In recent years, the Chinese Government has increased support for maritime exhibitions, especially after President Xi Jinping proposed the initiative "a belt, a route", echoed later by Prime Minister Li Keqiang, who ordered the construction of a sea route linking China and silk the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) to stimulate the development of the interior.
Emphasizing the global perspective of Beijing, the China Maritime world cooperation aims to promote technologies and marine equipment, help companies generate social benefits and build a high quality exhibition in the maritime industry. China Maritime, with a display area of 100000 100000 total m2atraiu visitors and 2000 exhibitors from about 65 countries and regions, among which 46 were companies in the Fortune 500 category.
Maritime industry receives strong support from the Chinese Government
China has strengthened its commitment to develop the maritime industry. For the next five years, the global demand for maritime engineering equipment is estimated at $60 billion and -75 China will invest between 250 and 300 billion RMB (or $36,9 -44.2 billion) in the manufacturing of maritime engineering equipment during the 13th five-year plan (2016-2020).
The Chinese market is doing well, while global offshore engineering market continues to slow
The pace of construction of new ships experienced a sharp decline around the world, in the second half of 2016. However, China achieved a good performance with its market share of construction of new ships, rising from 47.9% – in 2013 – to 50.5%, keeping the top spot overall. At the same time, the Asian country signed orders for 31 sets of offshore engineering equipment and 149 vessels offshore engineering, for a total value of $14.76 billion, representing 35.2% of the world market.
China Maritime is a space for high-tech giants of offshore engineering
China Maritime attracted a large number of 2016 companies and prestigious organizations, including Det Norske Veritas, Panama Maritime Authority, Rosneft, Baker Hughes, National Oilwell Varco, GE, Cameron, Schneider, Honeywell, API, Caterpillar, Cummins, MTU, Tyco, Atlas, Aker Solution, Jotun Paints, HEMPEL, PANASIA, Siemens and ABB, as well as the China State Shipbuilding Corporation, China National Offshore Oil Corporation, China National Petroleum Corporation and Sinopec. About 1000 of the media from around the world reported the event.
In addition, the event last year also attracted nearly 100 delegations of buyers to do business on the site, including the teams of Ulstein, Bourbon, McDermott, Icon Offshore, POSH Semco, Bhagwan Marine and China COSCO, COSL, Sinotrans & CSC Holdings.
