ANEEL approves 6.2% adjustment in electricity bills in Rio

The National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) approved an average increase of 6.2% in the tariffs of the distributor Enel Rio, formerly Light Services. The increase is part of the annual adjustment of 2021 and was approved on the last day 9. The new tariffs will come into force from next Monday (15).

The agency's decision determined increases of 4.63% for low-voltage consumers, such as homes and small businesses, and 10.38% for high-voltage consumers such as industries. As a part, it is estimated that about 2.7 million consumers, located in 66 municipalities of Rio de Janeiro, are affected.
