ANP schedule 17th Bidding Round for 2021

The 17th Bidding Round of oil and gas blocks was taken up by the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). The auction had been suspended in April this year for covid-19 pandemic. The pre-announcement of the Round was published in this Friday (27), in the Official Gazette (DOU), and the delivery of offers by investors was scheduled for October 7 next year.

The document will enter into public consultation for 60 days, up to 28 January 2021, and the public hearing is scheduled for 3 February 2021. via videoconferencing. It is worth remembering that the 17th Round will offer 92 blocks in four sedimentary basins (Campos, Pelotas, Potiguar and Santos), with total area of 53,900 km². Also included were blocks that may contain deposits located beyond 200 nautical kilometers, in the extension of the Platform Brazilian Continental.

These blocks are located in the Santos basin, with four blocks cut by the limit of 200 nautical miles (S-M-1615, S-M-1617, S-M-1619 and S-M-1378) and two are totally beyond this limit (S-M-1729 and S-M-1731). The deadline for the payment of the participation fee and registration in the round began on Friday, and will close after the publication of the notice, on the day 11, 2021, the ANP said.
