ANP approves project to improve gasoline

The National Petroleum Agency, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) has adopted a new resolution aimed at improving the quality of gasoline sold in Brazil and will establish the specifications and obligations regarding quality control to be met by the agents in place of RESOLUTION ANP No. 40 of 2013.

According to the note published on the agency’s website, the new project includes the establishment of a specific range of mass values of the gasoline; distillation parameters, which affect issues such as performance of the engine, driveability and engine heating; setting limits for the already present in the specifications of gasoline from other countries.

“The fixing of such a par[octanagem]ameter is necessary due to new engine technologies and will result in higher-performing gasoline for the vehicle,” the ANP said.
