ANP to propose auction calendar

The National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) to send the government an oil auction calendar for the next five years with a previous indication of all the offered areas. Currently disclosure is made one year before the auction.

According to Decio Oddone, director of the Agency, the intention is to provide the oil companies more time to assess the opportunities offered, thereby increasing competitiveness and price of areas. The companies have six months to examine the proposals.

Oil auctions will be one of the government's actions to advance the development of the country. Secretary of Planning and Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Planning, Mark Ferrari, said in an interview with the newspaper Folha de São Paulo, the proposals for the oil and gas sector can generate an investment of R $ 236.1 billion for the country.
