ANP initiates consultation to improve indication of areas for bidding

On Monday (20), the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) began the process of consultation and public hearing on a resolution that expands the forms of indication of areas for bidding rounds. For the agency, the proposal improves, simplifies and increases the visibility of the naming process, and can attract more agents and investments to the sector in the country.

The regulatory body said the initiative aims to regulate the naming of areas by economic agents, with the possibility that these suggest oil and gas exploration and production sites for future bidding or permanent bidding rounds.

In a statement, the agency said the proposal is in accordance with guidelines of the National Energy Policy Council (CNPE).
