ANP begins public consultation on oil and gas

On Monday (5), the National Agency of Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) began a public consultation on the draft resolution that will regulate the exercise of the activity of production of oil and natural gas derivatives in the country. The process will last 45 days and the public hearing on the subject will take place on December 15, by videoconference.

The goal, according to the ANP, is to minimize barriers to investment and reduce regulatory costs. 11 normative acts will be repealed by the draft proposal. The draft unifies the regulatory framework for the production of oil and natural gas derivatives, consolidating the activities of oil refining (ANP Resolution no. 16/2010), natural gas processing (ANP Resolution no. 17/2010), fuel formulation (ANP Resolution no. 5/2012) and fuel production in petrochemical plants (ANP Ordinances no. 84/2001 and 317/2001).

Also on Monday, the ANP began a prior consultation on the "Conceptual Model of the Gas Market in the Union Sphere of Competence", regarding the structuring of the gas market.
