Program monitors fuel Quality

The National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) instituted the fuel quality Monitoring program in order to improve the quality of the fuels marketed in the national territory. The agency issued Resolution No. 790, of June 10, 2019, published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) on Tuesday, 11.

The program establishes the requirements for the accreditation of laboratories that will analyze the following fuels: hydrated ethanol, gasoline C and diesel oil B. The results of the project shall be used to generate indicators of the quality of the Automotive liquid fuels marketed in the country.

The text of the resolution states that "the accredited laboratory may not have binding, nor possess in its administrative or social body persons directly linked to producers of fuels or economic agents or institutions linked thereto, such as Unions and associations ".

The ANP will carry out a bidding process for the choice of laboratory to be accredited by monitoring block, whose norms are to be defined in the announcement still to be disclosed.
