ANP paralyzes biodiesel auction for excessive value

The National Agency for Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) has paralyzed the new round of biodiesel auction. The reason was the value of the product, which was hitting R$ 7.50 a liter, which is considered too high a value by agents of the fuel market.

The stoppage happened in the late morning of last Tuesday (6). According to one source, the value of biodiesel represented three times the value of diesel in refineries. The auction was exclusive to small biodiesel manufacturers from Stage 3A. By the time of the interruption, 61,400 m³ had already been sold, about 62.2% of the total 98.7 thousand m³ of Stage 3A.
