The ANP (National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels), published on Monday (27), in the Official Gazette, authorization that allows the company Zeg Biogás e Energia S/A, headquarters in Itaim / SP, and for Inpasa Agroindustrial S/A, located in Sinop / MT, start the installation of the first biomethane production plant in the state of São Paulo.
As a renewable fuel, this authorisation involving the use of biomethane means the possibility of improving the use of existing waste in landfills. In the country, there are already four facilities like this that are already used worldwide.
The quality of biomethane from landfills and stations is regulated since 2017, by ANP Resolution No. 685/2017 (direct link) and its production is regulated since 2018 with ANP Resolution No. 734/2018 (put direct link).
