ANP requests more time to recalculation of oil royalties

The National Agency of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANP) has requested an additional 30 days to the Federal Supreme Court (STF) for the revision of oil prices for the respective calculation of royalties. The deadline previously granted by the Supreme Court was not until the 1st of March.

The change in the calculation of royalties may represent increased transfer to producing states such as Rio de Janeiro, for example. It is estimated that the changes could represent an increase of up to R $ 2 billion annual payment of royalties and production taxes.

According to the ANP, have not yet been established by the National Energy Policy Council – CNPE the criteria for fixing the minimum price of oil for the royalty calculation purposes. Recalling that the current calculation formula on the transfer of royalties is the year 2000.
