After TST considers illegal strike, Petrobras determines that oil tankers return to work
After stopping the tankers reaches the eighth day, Ives Gandra Filho, Minister of tst, judges the strike illegal and authorizes petrobras to take administrative measures, such as dismissal for just cause and cutting wages. If there is no compliance with their determination, the unions involved will have to pay a fine that can be up to R $ 500,000.00 (five hundred thousand reais) per day.
Decisio
n: "Recognizing, incidentally, the abuse and illegality of the paradist movement of oil tankers, which already lasts 17 days, has political motivation, and ostensibly disrespects the strike law and court orders to meet needs population in its minimum percentages of maintenance of active workers."
It's worth
knowing: … The strike of the tankers is against the closure of the fertilizer plant Ansa (Paraná) and the dismissal of about 400 workers.
… The strike is coordinated by the Single Federation of Tankers (FUP) and thirteen unions.
… Petrobras said it has already notified the union entities and awaits the return of strikers to work.
… The FUP says it hasn't been notified yet.
