Changes to P&G exploration and production approved

The MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy), reported that the CNPE (National Council for Energy Policy) approved last Wednesday (04) measures that increase the period of exploration and production of oil and natural gas.

The reason for the extension of the exploration phase of concession and sharing contracts was justified by the scenario of uncertainties that industry sane industries have been facing since last year.

With the change, there will be special conditions to carry out exploratory commitments of around R$ 3.5 billion in this year and next alone, with the aim of avoiding the early return of exploration areas and making possible the discovery of new oil and natural gas reserves.
