The first oil shipment was removed from the field of Mero, in the pre-salt area of the Santos basin, with a volume of 500,000 barrels of oil. The Libra consortium in the area operated by Petrobras foresees doubling the production in the field of Mero, for 40000 barrels a day until the end of February.
The second shipment of oil will be withdrawn by the partner in the consortium, the Anglo-Dutch Shell. The shipments will now take place every 25 days. The field of Mero came into production in November of 2017, in a long-term test. The Libra area has been considered one of the most promising in Brazil.
The consortium is led by Petrobras, with 40% participation, in partnership with Shell (20%), Total (20%), CNPC (10%) and CNOOC Limited (10%). But it also counts with the participation of the State company pre-Salt Petroleum (PPSA) as manager of the contract.
