Increased oil production becomes net exporter Petrobras in 2016

Fall in domestic demand for fuel and growth of oil production contribution, made Petrobras became a net exporter in 2016, and according to the director of Refining and Natural Gas of the state, Jorge Celestino, this title will last for years.

According to state information, exports increased 12% in the 4T16, totaling 634,000 bpd of oil and derivatives. Only the oil obtained an increase of 14%, which meant that the company assumed net exporter position in 2016. In the annual comparison, in the fourth quarter of last year had net exports rise 98%, so that Petrobras would supply 329,000 barrels per day of oil and oil products.

For the second consecutive year, the state also has fulfilled its production target, reaching 2.144 million barrels per day (bpd) of oil in Brazil and posted record as the production of 2.9 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed) and oil and gas in Brazil and abroad, in December 2016.

Thus, the net debt of the company decreased by 20%, falling to R $ 314 billion or US $ 96, 4 billion dollars. The production target this year, according to Petrobras, is 2.07 million barrels per day.
