Morro da Babilônia will have solar power plant

At the initiative of the NGO Revolusolar, Morro da Babilônia, in the South Zone of Rio, will receive the first solar power plant in a favela in Brazil. 

The project proposes 58 photovoltaic plates installed on the roof of the Residents Association, which will generate savings of 30% in the electricity bills of 38 families of Babylon and Chapéu Mangueira. 

The NGO also launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds and install the solar energy cooperative. The materials for installing the panels will be given by Chinese companies LONGi and GoodWe. Interested parties can make a donation from R $ 20 through the site benfeitoria.com/revolusolar.
