Biofuels can occupy oil place

As the world has been opting for cleaner fuels over the years, oil consumption eventually becomes smaller and less usual. According to the president of Royal Dutch Shell, Ben van Beurden, black Gold must have its peak consumption by the end of the next decade, losing space for renewable energies.

According to Beurden, electric vehicles will become more popular in the next decade, triggering the replacement of traditional combustion car engines, for rechargeable battery packs, and the use of biofuels. France and the United Kingdom have already taken a step in this direction and are considering until 2040 to prohibit diesel and petrol vehicles from circulating in the countries.

But clean energy is the future of fuels in the world, according to the Royal Dutch Shell report, oil may still be needed for decades, as it will probably continue to be the main fuel for airplanes, ships and heavy trucks.
