Peroba block begins to be explored after nine months

Last Friday, October 29, after nine months of the signing of the sharing Regime contract with the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), Petrobras initiated the exploratory drilling of the Peroba block, in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin , located 300 km from the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro, to the south of Campo de Lula and to the east of the Campo Sapinhoá.

The block was acquired in October of last year through the consortium operated by the state in the 3rd round of bidding under the production sharing Regime, and is one of the first exploratory regions taken in 2017 and 2018 to start drilling. In addition, the region has great exploration potential.

Petrobras is an operator of 40% of the area, together with BP Energy do Brasil with 40%, and CNODC Brazil oil and gas with 20%. Pre-Sal Petróleo S.A. (PPSA) is the contract manager. The perforation of the block can promote profit for the country, just be directed to sectors that need reinforcement such as education, health, economics, among others.
