Libra block can generate 3.3 billion barrels of oil

The volume recovered in the pound block, in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin is estimated at 3.3 billion barrels of oil. The information was passed on November 1st by Petrobras to the ANP, who declared that the field, called a mere, is in the northwest portion of the block.

The first area to be bidded under the production-sharing regime in Brazil in 2013, the field of Libra which is regarded as the largest Brazilian oil reserve, had the first oil produced this week through long-lasting testing. Eight extension wells were perforated identifying reservoirs with good quality oil and high commercial value

The next Libra platform must enter into operation in 2020.
