BNDES postpones Amazon Energy auction for December

Eletrobras announced that the Amazon Energia auction was postponed and will take place on December 10th by decision of the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES). Previously, the auction was scheduled to take place on the 27th of this month.

The deliberation came from the judicial determination of the 49 ª stick of labor of Rio de Janeiro, which cancelled the 170 ª AGE of Eletrobras, in which it established the sale of the distributors of the company in the north and northeast region. This decision prevented the company from pursuing privatization and also required the presentation of studies on the impact of privatization on employment contracts within 120 days.

The Extraordinary General Assembly (AGE) approved the sale of distributors such as Amazonas Energia itself and others such as Boa Vista Energia, Ceron, Eletroacre, Ceal and Cepisa. Of the six, only Ceal and Amazonas Energia have not yet been sold.
