BNDES will finance thermoelectric in Port of Açu

The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) announced the approval of a financing of R$ 3.93 billion for the creation of of a second thermal power plant in the Port of Açu, located in the municipality of São João da Barra, northern region of the state of Rio de Janeiro. Funding will be directed to GNA S Power Generation.A. The announcement was last Wednesday (13).

Ute GNA II is part of the natural gas thermal power plant that GNA is building in the Port of Açu. The plant will have four sets generators: three powered by natural gas and one by steam. Your installed capacity total will be 1,673 megawatts (MW) and the potential to generate about five thousand megawatts jobs with its construction. Another 500 jobs are expected to be generated when the plant goes into operation.
