BP buys stake in Africa

The oil company BP will buy stakes in exploration areas off the coast of Mauritania and Senegal. The combined assets were purchased for about 3.4 billion dollars and will add valuable reserves of oil and gas at BP, which has seen its resources shrink because of the realization that I needed to do to pay for the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

And the company announced it will buy 62% stake and operational control of the exploration blocks of Kosmos in Mauritania, including the discovery of Tortue, estimated by Kosmos as containing more than 15 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of gas.
