Brazil closer to the self-reliance on gas

According to estimates of the energy research company (EPE), the supply of natural gas will grow to 57 million cubic meters/day for 95 million cubic meters per day in 2026, with most coming from the pre-salt layer. Only the Santos basin will be responsible for 70% of the gross production of future gas and should contribute with around of 180 million cubic meters a day in gross production of gas until 2030.

The information of the EPE will meet the Government estimates that, as already reported by Offshore Panorama, predicts that Brazil could become self-sufficient in natural gas from 2021. With that, the import of gas from Bolivia would decrease dramatically or even would cease.
