The recoil in the annual comparison occurred amid a drop in the production of Petrobras due to a stop for maintenance in unity in the Whale park, in the basin of Campos. Of the total oil produced in the country in January, the state responded by approximately 2 million of barrels.

The milestone occurred last December when the pre-salt responded by 50.7% of the total barrels of oil and natural gas extracted in the country.

According to the National Agency of Petroleum, natural gas and biofuels, the country produced 1,381,000 barrels of oil per day and 54 million of daily m³ of natural gas by means of 85 wells in the pre-salt, one of the largest oil provinces discovered in the world in Last decade.

The ANP pointed out that the field of Lula, in the Santos Basin, was the largest producer of oil and natural gas, producing, on average, 842,000 bbl/d of Petroleum and 35.4 million of m³/d of natural gas.
