Ceará: Brookfield buys solar power facilities

Recently, Canadian multinational Brookfield made the acquisition solar energy projects in Ceará, located in northeastern Brazil. The purchase is the company's first onslaught in this type of source in the country.

The project consists of nine pre-operational parks that will be installed in the municipality of Limoeiro do Norte, with a capacity of 278 MW (megawatts), according to the company. Also according to Brookfield, the construction of the parks should be completed by the end of 2021, with energy production already for January 2022.

The Canadian group already has significant operations in the brazil, with assets ranging from hydroelectric and wind farms up to electricity transmission lines.
