Onerous assignment guarantees payment to Petrobras

After the newspaper Valor Economico informs that the government decided to postpone the payment of US $9.05 billion to Petrobras, the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) and the Ministry of Economics informed in note, on this last Wednesday (23), which as stated in the draft additive to the Contract of onerous assignment, the realization of the auction of the surplus volumes will readily allow the payment to the state.

The additive signed between the Union and Petrobras, which will pass through the Union Account Court (TCU), deals with the revision of the onerous assignment contract. The oil tanker will use the resources obtained to participate in the surplus auction, whose signing bonus for four areas is more than 106 billion reais.

The Government also approved a resolution with changes in the Terms of the additive’s draft to the onerous assignment contract, published in The Official Gazette of the Union, but did not further inform the Changes.
