As the Offshore Panorama had already released, it seems that the financial crisis that has plagued the city of Rio de Janeiro, aren't affecting. Until May of this year, revenue from royalties and appearances of oil for the city skyrocketed to more than double in about 2016, having been rendered R $247,720,000, according to ANP.
The proximity to the Lula field in the Santos basin, has guaranteed the Niterói about 43% of the royalties, while the city receives only 8%. Currently, the Squid is the largest producer of oil and natural gas in the country, accounting for 25% of all national oil, with average 638,000 barrels per day.
For the first time, the dividends this year put Niterói, as well as Maricá, on top of the municipalities that received more oil resources, passing including, Macaé and Campos dos Goytacazes.
