China reaches record in oil refining

In 2019, China strengthened its total refining capacity of oil with the start of operations of two major refineries. As result, according to data from the National Statistical Agency, the amount of total oil processed in the year set a record, reaching 651.98 million tons, or about 13.04 million barrels per day (bpd), generating a 7.6% compared to 2018.

According to a China National Petroleum Study Center Corp.(CNPC), growth should not stop there. The country must launch at least six other refineries this year with combined processing capacity for oil of 27 million tons.

In addition, the group also predicts that oil production China’s crude growth to 675 million tons by 2020, with an average rate of refineries across the country by about 75%.
