Rio's City Hall will use renewable energy sources

Measuring efforts to contribute to the containment of the water crisis, the city of Rio de Janeiro will adopt the implementation of renewable energy sources for the supply of the headquarters of the City Hall. The initiative coordinated by the Municipal Department of Finance and Planning, provides that with the use of solar and wind energy that must be purchased directly with the generators, about R $ 4 million can be saved from public coffers annually.

The choice, besides having economic benefits, is of great importance in the current moment of energy crisis. Experts expect energy transitions like this to be increasing. Every attitude that reduces consumption by hydroelectric plants is necessary, especially in the midst of the crisis that is worsening and has not "estimated end".
