Contract with the plant Stop will provide energy to the river

The leading company in digital technologies for industry, ABB, will provide transformers converters for the Belo Monte hydroelectric power plant, near the city of Altamira in Northern Pará. The intent of the R$ 75 million contract is to provide clean energy.

The transformers, which are capable of carrying up to 4000 megawatts of electricity, will be the transmission of 800 kilovolts (kV) of ultra high voltage direct current (UHVDC). The connection of 2,518 kilometers (km), will transmit power generated in the North of Brazil, from the Xingu substation to substation River to the Southeast.

Ultra high voltage technologies of processors will be able to take energy to approximately 10 million people, based on the national average.
