Coronavirus: PetroChina suspends some gas contracts

Due to the impact generated by the coronavirus epidemic on the market, Petrochina made the decision to suspend some gas import contracts, including shipments of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and gas imported through pipelines. 

According to Reuters, the company issued "force majeure warnings" for gas suppliers via pipelines and for at least one LNG supplier, but no further details could be obtained.

Recalling that China is one of the largest importers of gas and LNG in the world, which makes any cancellation so that any cancellation can cause major impacts on prices, according to operators.
