Cuba will have, for the first time, the bidding of exploratory areas in the offshore sector. The initiative is the company Unión Cuba-Petróleo (CUPET) in partnership with BGP Offshore. During the EAGE 2019 conference in London, there will be the presentation of the 24 regions located in the exclusive economic Zone (ZEE), in the Gulf of Mexico, which will go to the auction.

Registration for the bidding is now open. According to the CNPC subsidiary, the regions have a high oil potential with a capacity of 10 billion barrels.
