Domestic oil demand expected to be lower

The International Energy Agency (IEA) said demand for oil this year should be lower than expected. The fall in demand for the product is caused by the increased spread of the Delta variant, and the consequences it entails.

The statement that was made in the agency's monthly report projects that the forecast should be reconsidered for next year, highering pre-pandemic levels in the second half of 2022. The increase in the number of cases of covid-19 has caused many governments to choose to strengthen protection measures, restricting local circulation, a factor that reduces demand for fuels and directly affects oil demand.
