Last Monday (21), Shell announced the sale of 30% of its participation in the project of Gato do Mato, which encompasses the exploration blocks BM-S-54 and south of Gato do Mato, in the Santos Basin, for Ecopetrol.
The company received from Ibama (Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable natural resources) this year, licenses for the drilling of up to two exploration wells in the region and for the acquisition of 3D seismic data in the area of blocks BM-S-54 and south of Gato do Mato.
In addition, recently launched a bid for the chartering of an FPSO (floating unit of production, storage and transfer of oil and/or natural gas) in the area of Gato do Mato, which should start producing in the third quarter of 2023 1 Platform vessel with capacity for 90000 barrels per day of oil and 8.5 million of M3 per day of natural gas.
For now, Shell still works on the project with 50% of participation and has the French Total as a partner, with 20%.
