Danish company announces final phase of restructuring

After the simplification of the onshore organisation in January 2017, the business unit of Danish oil and gas company, Maersk Oil, announced the second and last phase of a planned organizational restructuring that will complete the implementation of a more efficient operational model in all its business activities.

The new operational model will support future growth initiatives. This second phase involves the restructuring of offshore organization and includes the transfer of planning and administrative tasks from offshore to onshore, allowing offshore teams to increase the focus on providing safe and efficient operations value.

However, the news comes with forecasting reduction of some job losses at the company, which can be considered an action in the path of oncoming traffic in the restructuring of the oil and gas industry worldwide.
