Enel will invest R$ 17 billion in renewable energy

Enel announced today (26) that by 2022, it will invest in R$ 17.7 in renewable energy in Latin America. Of this total, most of the investment will be directed to Brazil and Chile.

In addition, Enel plans an expansion of 5.4 GW of generation energy sources, which would come through contracts with consumers, such as the U.S. and Brazil. On the other hand, the company wants to reduce coal energy production by 74%. The company still stated that his goal is to have all his energy coming from renewable sources until 2050.

It is worth remembering that the company currently builds the largest wind farm and the largest solar park in South America, both in Piauí. The solar park, called São Gonçalo, is expected to operate already 2020.
