Electricity should get more expensive

With the worst water crisis in the last 91 years, the rise in electricity bill prices should continue until 2025, with a new increase expected later this year, according to a report on eletrobras' website.

Despite the measures that the government has been taking to reduce energy consumption, other factors imply the rise in the value of energy bills, such as increases in the price of the dollar, oil and inflation that is still within the target limit of 5.5%.

Prices continue to rise and the biggest impacts on energy rates are small and medium-sized entrepreneurs and consumers, who bear much of the income earmarked for electricity bills.
