Wind Power exceeds the capacity of the Itaipu Plant

According to the Brazilian Association of Wind Energy (Abbeolic) and the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel), the wind source hit records this month exceeding the installed capacity of the Itaipu hydroelectric plant, with 7000 wind turbines in 601 parks, Totalling 15 GW.

The evolution was achieved due to the large amount of winds in the Northeast region, responsible for 86% of the entire wind array in the Country, being able to supply the region. Last year, they were registered by the Electric Energy Commercialization Chamber (CCEE), which 8.6% of this energy was sufficient to supply 25.5 million households.
