Wind energy has significant growth in 2018

The wind energy sector grew 17.5% from January to September this year compared to 2017. According to data from the monthly newsletter Infomercado of the Electric Energy Commercialization Chamber (CCEE), the representativeness of clean energy in relation to the system used in all plants, reached 8.1%.

According to the bulletin, about 536 wind power plants are operating in Brazil, totaling 13,668 MW of installed capacity. Data still indicate that Rio Grande do Sul is the largest producer of wind energy in the country, with a total of 1,444.9 MW produced in the first nine months of this year.
