Solar energy continues to stand out

Studies continue to prove the constant growth and potential of wind energy. According to Absolar (Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy), Brazil surpassed the historical mark of 10 gigawatts (GW) of operational power of the photovoltaic solar source.

The choice of the alternative of a clean and renewable source means relief for water resources that are in a situation of scarcity that is increasing. But in addition to the environmental factor, solar energy is also beneficial to the economy. According to Absolar, since 2012, Brazil has recorded more than R$ 52.7 billion in investments in the sector, which is very important for economic growth especially at the current recovery time.

"Large solar plants generate electricity at prices up to ten times lower than emergency fossil thermal power plants or electricity imported from neighboring countries today, two of the main responsible for the tariff increase on consumers," said Rodrigo Sauaia, CEO of Absolar.
