Eneva starts natural gas production in the Amazon Basin

Eneva started the production of natural gas in the azulão field, in the Amazon Basin, last Thursday (13). The company bought the field that belonged to Petrobras, the initial operator that decided not to invest in the site.

The gas produced in Azulão will be used in power generation to meet the state of Roraima, the only state that is still disconnected from the National Interconnected System (SIN) of power transmission. The thermoelectric responsible for the production will be Jaguatirica II, with 117 MW of power.

The project is the first to go live in the region. In this first phase, natural gas is used in the commissioning of equipment installed in the fields.
