Equinor produces 200 million barrels in Peregrino

The Norwegian company Equinor has reached a milestone oil production in the Pilgrim oil field. With more 200 million barrels produced, the field must still receive the installation of another platform that will increase its capacity to 260 million barrels of Oil.

Pilgrim’s production began in 2011 and has a 100% Brazilian crew. In addition, the expansion of the field will be responsible for the generation of more than 350 new onshore and offshore job vacancies. Pilgrim also has an estimated reserve of 670 million barrels of oil and, in the days produces about 60,000 to 80,000 bpd (barrels per day).

Margareth Øvrum, CEO of Equinor, is pleased with the target beat by the company: “We have a lot to celebrate with this milestone achieved in Peregrino: 200 million barrels produced safely in a field that many believed they could not be developed,” he said.
