Equinor supports reform in the gas market

The president of Equinor in Brazil, Margareth Øvrum, said in a panel at OTC Brasil 2019 that reforms in the gas market are on the right track. Even if it is not a rapid process, the director even compared Brazil with Norway, since it follows today the example of the transformation that also occurred in the country of origin of the company.

In addition, Margareth stressed that the positive moment lived the government and regulator's mobilization for the opening of the gas market and due to the promotion of reforms such as social security. "For the market opening, you need to ensure access to infrastructure (from transport of gas) and access to customers", he said.

And he also even cited gas thermal generation projects together. Earlier this month, Petrobras, for example, announced that it closed a Memorandum of Understanding with Equinor to study gas thermal generation projects together, as well as the feasibility of gas processing and flow assets in the areas of the Gas Cabiúnas (TECAB), macaé, and comperj in Itaboraí.
