Gas exports to Germany hit record

The Russian State-owned Gazprom said that gas exports to Germany reached a record level in 2016 and have surged since the beginning of this year. Have been exported 49.8 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas for Germany in 2016, overcoming a record 45.3 bcm in 2015.

The Germany is the largest market abroad for Gazprom, which currently supplies a third of the gas in Europe. The company also reported that its exports to countries outside the Soviet Union reached record highs since the beginning of 2017 due to cold weather in Europe.
