Campo de Maromba will have exploration of BW Offshore

According to the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade), the company BW Offshore bought 100% of the field of Maromba, in the Campos Basin, in which Petrobras had 70% concession in conjunction with Chevron (30%). The company intends to invest in other oil producing regions in the country.

The purchase made by BW Offshore will still be approved by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) and represents a change of strategy of the company, making it not only supplier of services, platforms and ships. The region was discovered in the BC-20a block, in the Campos Basin, and is one of the oldest deinvestment projects of Petrobras, since 2017.
