Fifth well of PetroRio goes into operation

PetroRio announced the start of operation of its fifth well in the Tubarão Martelo Field. The well was connected to the platform ship FPSO OSX-3, which belongs to the company. With this operation, PetroRio increases its total production in the field by 40%, reaching an average of 10,000 barrels per day.

The initial flow of the well, called TBMT-4HP, is approximately 3,000 barrels of oil per day. In addition, the connection between the well and the platform vessel is part of the work to revitalize the Tubarão Martelo.

The oil company's next step is to tieback the Polvo and Tubarão Martelo fields, which is a procedure to interconnect the wells and optimize their exploration through an existing infrastructure. The estimated investment is US $ 45 million and the procedure should be carried out in the first half of 2021.
