PetroChina Company, China's largest oil and gas producer, announced on Thursday (25) that it has completed drilling the well on the deepest ground in Asia (in the Tarim Basin, the largest Chinese oil field). Named after Lutan and with exactly 8,882 meters, the well hit record depth prior to 8,588 meters established by the company Sinopec.
The exploration began in June of last year and faced physical difficulties, such as the conditions of ultra-high temperature and pressure, and also local, since the soil of the region is extremely severe.
