Fuel consumption retreated in May, says Unica

According to data published by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) and compiled by the Sugarcane Industry Union (Unica), fuel consumption fell by 23.8% in May compared to the same month in 2019. 

However, compared to April, the volume consumed increased 8.14%, with 3.38 billion liters used by the light vehicle fleet, Unica reported. 

Of the total volume consumed in May, 1.27 billion liters were ethanol, a decrease of 32.1% on the same comparative basis. Gasoline, on the other hand, saw a reduction of 20.4% in the period, with a volume of 2.5 billion liters.
